Project of The Month

The Sewing Studio's a-buzz right now with classes galore, innumerable custom sewing jobs, and prep work for our exciting summer camps!

• Take advantage of our Sewing PLUS rewards program... Take S+ three times and get a free Feature Workshop. Take S+ five times and your sixth time is FREE!

And don't forget to post your project pics on our online community board. While you're there, start a group with your former sewing classmates and blog about your latest fashion discovery.

See you at the studio!

Blanket bag

Seen: www.weebabystuff.com

Make it TSS-style:Add pockets galore to this double-duty tote. We recommend a BlackBerry pouch on the outside and one that's elasticized inside for your (aluminum) water bottle.

Try: Make a version of this 1/2-blanket-1/2-bag for the beach rather than for a baby.

sewing tip

Looking for kitschy or vintage fabric? Why not visit your  local Goodwill, Value Village, or vintage store for old clothes with great prints! Open the seams, cut the pattern, and rework the fabric into a new tote bag, headscarf, or whatever you wish!
