Back to school means back to sewing! After a summer of chillin', it's time to get down to business. We've got beginner and kids classes starting this month, and intermediate classes starting in October.
AND, this month marks year FOUR (!) of The Sewing Studio (no presents necessary), so we wanted to pass on the joy. As a we-love-you to all TSS supporters, we'd like to extend a special discount for our September session of classes.
- New students: Sign up with a friend for a class with a start date in September and you'll both get 10% off your class fee.
- Former students: Refer a friend and they'll get 10% off a September start date class fee. PLUS, you'll get 10% off the next course you sign up for.

Sewing Machine Cover

Make it TSS-style: Use scraps of your favorite fabrics to quit together for the cover.
Try: : Making your own double-fold bias tape (in a bright colour or wow pattern) to use as a decorative trim. Just cut 1-1.5 inch strips of fabric on the bias. Make sure the ends off all the pieces are on-grain. Fold and press the strips in half and then fold and press the ends into the center... voila, double-fold bias tape! |
Rotate projects. While completing a difficult project can be rewarding, sometimes we need a break. Break up hard-to-do tasks with something easy and fun. If the difficult project was a confidence drainer, doing a simple and fun project can boost your confidence, and since sewing is as much about confidence as it is about talent, you'll be ready to tackle even more daunting tasks in the future! |

• More October classes coming including Sewing PLUS, Quick Start, and Man Class!
• With Halloween just around the corner, you're going to need all the sewing time you can get. Costumes, anyone? Don't forget about our Free Studio Time (for all past and present students) from 2-6pm on Wednesdays and Sundays.
• We're working on setting up online registrations. You'll see them very soon.
• At TSS's head office, we're diving into online sewing videos this fall. Keep an eye out for digital sewing classes. Coming soon!
