A perfect hat can make an outfit come to life; spruce it up with an unexpected twist, as well as throw a curveball to the paparazzi leaving them wondering how you pulled it off. They’ll need physiotherapy from all the neck breaking they’ll be doing as you strut by. You hot stuff, you.
Big hats, little hats, floppy ones, flouncy ones, chunky knitted or fitted…okay, I’ll stop. I’m now rhyming and starting to sound like the Slap Chop guy. You get the idea. Match an outfit and a hat that would normally act like two opposites and not talk to each other at a party. See what happens. Sparks might fly. Though, try not to become an arsonist and set the place on fire. Choose wisely. You will know when it’s just the right fit.

If you are not a hat person, try head scarves/bands or even smaller accessories, like feathers or bows. “J’adore hats” crew: tie a scarf around your fedora or clip on a feather to switch on the rumble.
Creating anything on my own satisfies my soul. If you are one of my kind, you will love making your own accessories. Yup, this is the part where I encourage you to make your own hats. What are you still doing here? Get started on a game plan for the patterns below!

I am so excited. I am on countdown to my first ever trip to Tokyo! I am stopping over for four days on my return home to Australia. Boy, are those four days going to be jammed! My mission – fabric, paper, stationary and all things cute! I have managed to put together a day by day itinerary (cos that’s the kind of super organized geek I am) for my trip that will no doubt have me exhausted by the end of it. There’s just so much to see! There’s an entire area of Tokyo called ‘Fabric Town’ (Nippori) dedicated to sewing enthusiasts just like you and me. One shop in particular – called ‘Tomato’ has people from all over the world making their pilgrimage to Tokyo in order to seek out new and wonderful fabric finds. The thought alone makes me drool. And the fun doesn’t stop there. Tokyo is also a real Mecca when it comes to paper, stationary and all things cute (Kawaii). All the things that just make me so happy. Here are some links you should definitely check out if a trip to Tokyo is anywhere in your future. Stay tuned for my holiday happy snaps. Only 35 sleeps to go. Yay!
