Sew an apron out of a belted spring jacket
Ivana Musura | Date posted: July 3rd, 2012
Sew an apron using an old spring jacket and greet the neighbours in style at your backyard BBQ party!
Supplies:
1 spring jacket (with detachable belt)
Step 1: Cut off the jacket at the waist so that you are left with the “skirt.” Leave the belt and belt loops intact.
Step 2: Trim off the (front) panels of the jacket, ensuring the apron will fit around your body.
Step 3: Finish the top edges of the “skirt,” as well as the side seams.
Step 4: Fold back a ½” (2 cm) seam allowance and stitch down to create a finished edge.
Step 5: Feed the belt through the belt loops and use as apron ties.
