Turn jeans into Bermuda shorts

You don’t want to part with your favourite jeans—why not make them into stylin’ shorts! Grab a utility knife and some scissors and you’ll be on your way to a brand new summer staple.
Supplies:
1 pair of old jeans
Utility knife
Scissors
Sewing gauge
Step 1: Measure the length that you would like to shorts to be. Add a 2” (5 cm) seam allowance, then snip the rest of the pant legs off.
Step 2: Roll up the seam allowance by 1” (3 cm) twice to create a finished edge. Press.
Step 3: Sew a backstitch right into the side seams on both pant legs.
Step 4: Using a hand sewing needle, sew a few blind tacks approximately 2” (5 cm) apart around each hemline to secure the rolled hem.
Step 5: Use the utility knife to scrape and rip the areas you want to look distressed.
